Our Utah Christmas catch-up

After delayed flights and a Christmas miracle to beat the storm that dumped 23'' of snow in Philadelphia, we made it to Utah without to many melt downs. We started out our Christmas vacation going to our first family party the day after we got there. We got to see many people we haven't seen for a while and it was fun to go to parties since we didn't get to last year. Then that night we went to my parents house to visit. My sister Chantel was going to be induced the next morning. Little did we know that it was going to be moved up to hours after this picture was taken.

Before & After

Poor Ryan threw up at midnight the night we got there and then exactly midnight the next 2 nights. Then skipped a couple nights and threw up again. It was a weird and frustrating illness and it made it hard to get together with our families. This is him just laying there one morning.

But even being sick no kid can get enough stories. This is their Grandma Wayment reading to them one night. They also got some stories in with their Nana. Kyrie even had a sleep over party with my mom at her house.Christmas morning was very fun and full of surprises for all of us. Santa brought presents we didn't know about and it was like being a kid again. A few of the things Kyrie got were a My Little Pony House and a Cinderella dress up outfit.
Ryan knew how to open gifts this time and both kids had a blast. I made matching PJ's for all of us that you can see in the pictures.

Around 11:00 we had a brunch party with Luke's side of the family. There was good food and we all enjoyed ourselves. This is my brother-in-law Jeff and his wife Paige with most of their nieces and nephews.
Kyrie got a fun bake set and apron from her Grandma & Grandpa Wayment. She can use it to really bake and she has been hounding me to let her do it. I think we will tomorrow.

After the Wayment brunch party we went to my mom's so that Luke and Ryan could open their presents since Ryan was sick. We didn't want to take him to my sisters house with the new baby and get her sick. After Luke and Ryan opened their presents Kyrie and I went over to my sister Chantel's house to have our family party. This is my mom, dad, sister Chantel, and her new baby Evelyn. Evelyn was born on December 20th at 2:23 am weighing in at 7 lb. 3 oz. and was 19 inches long. She is so darling and precious.
Kyrie got lot of girly things and couldn't be happier. The funny thing was how excited she got when she learned it all got to go home with her.
The day after Christmas we went bowling to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. It was Kyrie's first time and she had so much fun. Well, we all did.

My handsome boy.
We went to my moms house one morning to visit with my sister Melissa and her family. I am sad that I didn't get to see her quite as much with our sick families. Not everything works out like you want it too. There was already snow on the ground when we got there but it snowed more while we were there and we took advantage of it. They kids loved playing in the snow. We don't get very much in Philadelphia and when there finally is a big storm we are not even in the same state. Luke even pulled the kids around on a sled.

Kyrie has been talking about making a snow angel for months and finally got her chance.

Of course Ryan had to be just like his sister. Luke would even get him up and he would just lay back down. Of course his version of a snow angel is just kicking his legs. It was funny to watch.

Kyrie also made a snow castle which she had to have a flag on top.

Girl time with her cousin Reagan.
Ryan cuddled up with everyone this trip. This is him cuddling with his Great Grandpa Francom. Kyrie got to play with my cousin Kendra.
Both kids got to play with my cousin Harrison's guns. Kyrie was hilarious with her gun and Ryan's was twice his size.

My dad with Ryan.

Luke, Ryan, and Luke's dad Terry watching football.
My brother in law Jeff, his wife Paige, Kyrie, Ryan, and our neice Ava.
This is Ryan's great-grandma Wayment. He climbed up on her lap and cuddled with her. It was so cute! My mom also came over to visit and Ryan climbed up with her too.
The night before we left we had an early birthday party for my sister Melissa and my nephew Parker. This is an updated picture of all the grand kids on my side. Since Chantel had her baby while we were there we thought it was appropriate. Kyrie is no longer the only girl.
They all started laughing and we had to take a funny shot.
Me holding little Evelyn. Isn't she the cutest thing?
Evelyn finally had her eyes open. I was a baby hog that night, but I won't get to see her for a very long time. Sometimes it hard to live so far away from family.
The trip home started out rough with Ryan throwing up all over everything on the way to the airport. I learned not to give him breakfast so early in the morning. Then he threw a 20 minute tantrum on the plane. I hate it when there is nothing you can do to console them. He tired us both out and luckily he slept the rest of that stretch. The rest of the day was not as rough and we made it home safe and sound.
Sorry this post was so long but to me this is the abbreviated version. I took so many pictures and this doesn't even touch it. This trip was a challange with illness but we had memories that will last forever. We were very blessed this Christmas in more ways then I can name and we are so thankful to everyone who made it a very wonderful Christmas.

I am sad I didn't get to see you much this time either. I hate this time of year where everyone gets sick at the drop of a hat. But it was nice the couple times I saw you. Thanks for the book you made Scott and I for Christmas. It truly is priceless!!!

I'm SOOOOO glad you guys were able to come out for Christmas this year! It was so nice to have you guys here. I'm also so glad you've had the chance to meet my little Evelyn as well. Even with me being housebound we were still able to have good times. I'm liking your new camera, btw!
