I love egg hunts!

Today was our ward Easter party. They had an Easter egg hunt, yummy sandwiches, and egg coloring. Ryan did awesome with the egg hunt. In fact he did much better than Kyrie did. He went first because of his age and then Kyrie followed after with her group. He went to town picking up the eggs and Kyrie took her time lolly gagging along.

Ryan loved picking up the eggs. We will do it again next weekend as a family and I'm sure he will be in heaven.

Ryan also did much better than Kyrie when it came to the Easter bunny. He actually went right up and showed the Easter bunny his basket of eggs and had no problem with him. Kyrie on the other hand hated even being in the vicinity of the bunny. Nothing we could say could get her anywhere near it.
Here is Kyrie picking up her eggs. I forgot her belt so she spent some of her time trying to keep her pants on. Like Ryan, she did have a good time and can't wait to do it again.

They both got lots of eggs and were very excited. In fact, Ryan got a bunch of jelly beans in his eggs and went to town before I noticed. I don't remember if he has actually had them before but I am seeing the effect now. He has been super destructive and naughty since we have been home from the party. I am defiantly going to monitor his candy intake this year.

Our ward is the Pennypack Ward, hence the sign.

After Ryan had already talked to the Easter bunny I took him over to sit on his lap. This time he didn't want to take his eyes off him. He didn't seem scared, just curious.
Here is Kyrie coloring her egg. She keeps wanting to carry it around the house but doesn't understand that it needs to stay in the refrigerator.
The holidays are getting more fun as the kids get older.

That's cool that they do a whole easter ward thing. I wish we did that. Sugar can certainly make life interesting. Hope you can keep the destructive Ryan under control! :)

Hi Amy! This is Andrea Uhrey! I loved this post. Your kids are adorable! I remember one year in High School, I was asked by a neighbor to be the Easter Bunny. It was torture. Ever since then, I feel for the people in the suit. Hot and stuffy! I'm glad Ryan wasn't scared of the bunny, though. That made me feel terrible when the kids were scared of the suit. Happy Easter!!

How fun! I wish our ward did a fun Easter party like that. I love the hunts! I love the video of the kids. After our conversation about not liking our boys' baskets I laughed when I saw Ryan's, it's the same one Parker has! We've asked the Easter bunny to bring very little candy ( : Especially since we know Nana will bring some and the family hunt will bring some.
