Life's a trip

I don't think that busy even begins to describe what the last couple of weeks have been. I will start with Kyrie's tests this morning. I took her down to St. Christopher's Children's Hospital for a couple a tests since she has had multiple bladder infections lately. First she had an ultrasound of her kidney's to make sure everything was working right. She did very well during the 40 minutes it took to get good shots of the kidney's. She was really excited with all the stickers she was getting. However, she did not like the second test they did. I wouldn't either to tell the truth. They did a VCUG to look at and test the bladder. Basically they insert a small tube into the bladder and fill it up. Then they watched on the machine as it empties. I am sure there is more to it than that but I am no doctor and I am new to the process. Kyrie cried on that one but she calmed down after they gave her brand new bubbles. We don't know the results yet but at least the tests are done. She had to get in a gown for the x-rays and VCUG. She thought it was dress up.
Another reason things have been ultra crazy is I have been called to be the Young Women's President here in Philadelphia. The first week I was in I was gone 4 of 8 nights and Luke had to put the kids to bed those nights. I think they are getting used to it, but on occasion Kyrie will whine when I have to leave. I love the new calling but it has been very busy getting started. I
am looking forward to my first baptisms for the dead with the girls next weekend at the Manhattan Temple. I haven't ever been there before and I am really excited. We are trying to juggle schedules so I don't have to get babysitters more than necessary. Luke has been a big help and I am grateful.
Also adding to the craziness has been my IUD problem. My side has been hurting for over a year and after an ultrasound a year ago showed nothing, my mom convinced me to get my IUD out. I have been putting it off and finally went in this week to get it out. Lets just say the doctor could not find it and I left in much pain. I then went for an ultrasound Tuesday to see if they could spot it. I had 2 different ultrasounds and they think they might have found it. I called for the results on Thursday and the doctor is out until Monday, so I have to wait to find out.
Luke is still busy with school. He is done with book work at the end on March and then takes his boards in May. I think he is excited to be done with book work and working in the hospital. His first rotation is Pediatrics followed by OB. They aren't supposed to work them more than 80 hours a week, but which rotation he is in determines the hours. He is also very busy as the Ward Mission Leader. He goes out with the missionaries often and has meetings just like me.
Ryan is one fun little boy. He is all boy and LOVES trains, planes, and cars. I am in the process of making him some boy dress up clothes so he won't wear Kyrie's princess dresses when she wants to dress up. I just need to find the time to get it done. He is talking more now and is very good at communicating what he wants. I can't believe he will be 2 in a month. Time just flies by.
Well those are some of the reasons I have been slacking in the blogging area. I will try to post more as time permits.

Congrats on your new calling! Hopefully once you get into the swing of things it won't be quite so stressful for you =)

How does your IUD just get LOST?! I am mildly freaked out about that and reconsidering it as an option *L*

Mom just told me about your IUD problem. I think that I am glad mine fell 'down' and not migrated. I really hope you get some answers. You need to call me. And let us know about Kyrie's results too. Poor girl having to go through all that! I am glad she was able to make it through Ok and there isn't too much trauma. I think you are going to do amazing at the young women's president. Once you get a schedule going and figure it all out things will hopefully settle down a bit. I wish I could be there to help you. Is there anything I can do for you?

You're going to be a fabulous yw leader! Your life does seem to be pretty crazy right now. Hopefully they can fix you and Kyrie up so you neither one have to deal with being sick or pain. Lizzie hated all the tests they've done for her bladder. Luckily all she remembers now is the pink duck they gave her. :)

They can't find the IUD? No wonder you are in pain. Good thing it's still working for you. Yikes- hopefully that gets all figured out soon!
