Manhattan Temple Trip

Today was the first temple trip I've been on since being called to be the Young Women's President. We went to the Manhattan temple this time and we will go to the DC temple in September. I was very excited since I have never been to New York City. I ended up not having to drive and that made it even better!! On the way, we got to drive by a couple of fun things. This big aircraft carrier was the one Nicholas Cape jumped off of in National Treasure. After scoring a killer parking deal of only $12.00 per car we made our way to the Manhattan temple. For those of you who have never been to New York City, it is one busy loud place. But upon entering the temple it was complete silence. It was very amazing to see and feel the difference of the house of the Lord. The temple was also very accommodating and got us in earlier than our appointment time.
Here is the youth that were able to come with us. They are a great group of kids.

After a wonderful time in the temple we walked a couple of blocks to Central Park to have lunch. The weather was PERFECT and it was a blast! We all had lunch and then the youth played Frisbee while some of us enjoyed the sunshine and scenery.
On the way to the Lincoln Tunnel to come home we drove through Time Square. That was a fun new experience to have. That is a hopping place that's for sure. Lots of lights, people, and TV's.
I actually thought of my brother-in-law Scott when I saw their Police Station. Even the cops have flashing lights on their building. I thought he would laugh at that.
The view as we headed back to Philadelphia was amazing.

It was so fun to see New York City up close and personal but it was even more fun to be in the temple and the feeling I get when I am there. I am glad I had this experience while we live so close. It was very fun to visit but I would never want to live there.

Amazing, pure and simple! I am so glad the trip went well and you didn't encounter any problems. I would be nervous going to New York City... it is HUGE and very busy. You got some great pictures! Scott saw of FB you were going and told me he wanted to live where you live since you have seen some cool things. LOL! I am so happy you were able to go to the temple... such a great experience. I know how hard it is for you guys to go, so it makes it all the more special when you can. Love it!
