With Luke at the hospital from 6:45 am to about 6:30 pm, the kids and I have been doing activities to keep us from going crazy. We have done many fun things, but a few of them have been:
Perler bead crafts (Ryan made a huge mess but it kept them occupied for quite awhile)

Sleeping (well just the kids, lucky them) Ryan finished his lunch and couldn't stay awake long enough for Kyrie to finish hers.
Playing at the park

Watch every airplane fly overhead.

Enjoying some shade.

First we wanted to thank everyone for the support and prayers in Luke's behalf. We are so glad to have his first set of boards done and over with. They have up to 6 weeks to give us the score so now we just wait. He started his Pediatric Rotation last Monday and is keeping super busy. With the exception of Tuesday he is working these first 2 weeks at Temple Hospital in the Pediatric outpatient area. Tuesday he worked in the adolescent area for just one day. He didn't like working with teenagers as much as the younger kids. I don't blame him there. He gets to go in the patient rooms with no doctor to interview the patient and then the doctor talks with him about what is going on with the patient. It's really hands on and I think that Luke is getting a lot from it. After these 2 weeks he moves to the Pediatric ER for a week. Following the ER he moves to the Newborn nursery for another week. After the nursery he moves to the inpatient area at St. Christopher's Children's Hospital. The days are long and he does a ton of standing but I think he likes it better than all the book work the first couple of years. Personally, I am very thankful that he was able to get all of his rotations in local hospitals so he doesn't have to be gone for 6-8 weeks. His next rotation starts in 5 more weeks and will be his OB/GYN rotation at Abington Hospital. He is less then excided but at least he has seen both kinds of deliveries with his own children. It has been hard to get back on a schedule after being spoiled to have him home the last month while he studied for his boards. I am so proud of what he has accomplished and how hard he has worked to get to this point.

Go Luke Go!!!!!! I am so glad to hear he has made it this far and that he is getting to do the real dr. stuff. I hope you survive him being gone all the time too. I hated it when Scott worked at Carls Jr and was gone that much. It pretty much was the pits.
I love the beads... so adorable. And how cute of Ryan to fall asleep on the couch. So precious!
I think the pediatric rotation would be one of my favorites. Too bad they make the students work so hard though. I guess they just want to make sure they work enough to see everything, right? I admire your ability to keep up with your kids by yourself so much. What fun things to do. I love those bead crafts. If I think of something really run, I'll get you the idea so you'll have more to do ( :
P.S. I'm also glad that you have such a great husband. Go Luke for working so hard! The book work is over!
