Zoo Day

With Luke being in the Pediatric ER this week, his schedule is different and he got today off. We ended up going to the zoo since Kyrie has been asking to go for awhile now. The weather was hot and humid but it didn't stop us from having a good time.
We got to see a baby orangutan that was born recently and it was adorable!

Ryan was much more into the animals this year. He loved watching them and kept saying, "See, See."

The lions gave us quite a show this time around.

This visit they had Lego exhibits at different areas of the zoo. They were huge and very amazing! Here are a few that we ran into.

The polar bear was our favorite. I don't know how they could put something like this together. Now that's talent.

It was a very hot and HUMID day today and the kids splashed in a little bear fountain to cool off.

One of the things Kyrie wanted to do the very most was to feed the goats. She loves going to the children's zoo area and it is a highlight every time we go.
I am being a dork in this video, but it was so funny to watch Ryan try to feed the goat. He couldn't get the idea to hold his hand out flat and the goat kept trying to get it anyway. It didn't hurt him but after awhile he wanted to get away from them.

It's sad when you have to go to the zoo to see tractors, cows, and chickens when in Utah you could drive a mile down the road and see them.

Luke and I thought the funniest part was when the kids were eating lunch and they had to fight the geese for their sandwiches. Both kids ended up crying but we couldn't help but laugh. I know that's probably wrong but after the first one went after Kyrie's sandwich she shoved the whole thing in her mouth so it would "be safe." Ryan only lost the last bite of his to the goose but the goose was as big as he is. The funny thing is they were sitting at a table, not on the ground through all this. Let's just say there are brave geese at the zoo.
