A day at the shore

Today the kids and I went with some friends to the New Jersey shore. In the two years we have lived here we have yet to make it there and it's really not far. We drove 130 miles round trip and that was with a few extra miles added for when we got lost. It was a lot of work but seeing the kids so happy makes it so worth it. Kyrie couldn't wait to get into the water and Ryan just wanted to play in the sand.
Here is Ryan and Asher playing in the sand together. Asher wasn't a big fan of the water at first either. Although Ryan did warm up to it and spent time walking in the water with me.These lovely ladies are my friends Charise and Sierra. If it weren't for them we still wouldn't have been to the beach. Thanks girls!
We were all so busy with our kids we didn't even walk around to see the sand castle contestants. The real reason we went to the beach was for a sand castle competition but your priorities change when your kids are having a blast. Here is one of the sand sculptors I managed to snap a picture of.
Lunch was tricky with all the sand but we somehow managed.

This is the ocean view from where we played. The water was perfect and the clouds provided us with some shade here and there.
This is a house we passed walking back to our cars to go home. I would love to own this house. To bad the property next to it with no house is going for 1.39 million. Just imagine if you added a super nice house to it. Oh well, it was nice to look at anyway.

We are sad that Luke wasn't able to join us but I'm sure we'll go back again soon as a family.

P.S. Always check your kids' seashells before you bring them home or you may have some living thing waiting to surprise you.

Hahaha what on earth did you find?! It looks like a ton of fun. Too bad we don't have a beach here.
