Happy 4th of July!

Ok, so these first couple of pictures aren't from our Independence Day celebrations but Ryan looked so cute I had to blog them. He has finally switched from the princess dresses to ninja and train engineer costumes and we couldn't be happier. He is so boy and we love it. This is his favorite spot to look out the window. (which is very often) He loves to watch all the cars, trucks, and motorcycles and tells us constantly.
For the 4th of July the kids and I made fireworks out of craft pipe cleaners and hung them around the house.
I got this idea from a friend who did it last year. Easy and fun.
Of course Ryan just wanted to put the little puff balls into his trucks. He didn't care to much for the craft like Kyrie did.
Then the kids and I made some red, white, and blue cupcakes. They went very well with the jello cups we made to match.
We didn't do much this year as far as fireworks were concerned. We did sparklers and those pop things you throw at the ground and that was it. The kids seemed happy enough with just that.
Of course this picture was taken about 15 seconds before Ryan decided to touch the sparkler. He has a couple of little burns now and I think he learned his lesson.
Being the boy he is, all he wanted to do was light other sticks on fire. I think he shares the love of fire that both his parents have. It may get us into trouble in the future.

I think me and Luke's favorite part was the food. We pulled out the old BBQ and grilled up hamburgers and brats. They were very yummy!
Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Ryan makes me laugh!!! He was trying so hard to light sticks on fire. What a boy!!! Makes me laugh! We did sparklers with the boys and it was Josh's first time too. He also got burned. Poor kids just get too excited!

How fun! I love the pictures. You always have so many fun crafts and treats to do with your kids. I need to start taking notes ( : I'm glad you were able to celebrate the holiday. We did minimal celebrations since we were traveling.

We had brats for dinner too! Sooo good. I love the pipe cleaner craft. I am going to have to remember that. Oh, and yes, Tennyson burned his hand pretty badily last year by grabbing the lit end of the sparkler too. That did him in for the rest of the evening and all of the next day. He's a little dramatic sometimes...LOL! In his defense, he had some pretty nice blisters going on for awhile. Glad Ryan just got a little burn!
