Rotations are not my favorite

This begins week 3 of Luke's OB rotation and it's also the week he works nights. Starting last night he has to be to the hospital by 7:00 pm and he gets home about 9:00 am in the morning. They make them stay for a lecture with the residents after his shift. I don't know how they expect them to stay awake after being up all night but they have to do it when everyone is there. I asked him how he liked it when he walked in the door and he told me it was not fun. I guess they were very busy with a ton of triage patients and the night nurses aren't as nice. Maybe they need some sleep too. Anyway, I don't like being alone at night either because it's a little scary but it's only until Friday. On the plus side, Luke delivered his first baby this week. The doctor made sure the head was out and then turned everything over to Luke. It went well and he is glad he was able to deliver something beside a placenta.
Last night we went to a BBQ with some friends at the park. We are saying goodbye to some more friends. Our ward feels so different with so many people gone. We are struggling to fill callings and I am defiantly feeling those effects. I feel like I drowning a lot and as much as I love the girls, I can't wait until girls camp and youth conference is over. With everyone gone on vacations I have had to pick up a ton of slack and I'm starting to burn out a little. I can't go to young women's this week because Luke will be at work and the kids have to go to bed, so I guess that is my break. I have started working with Kyrie more on her letters and she is starting to read small words like hot, dog, baby, and etc. We went to the library to get more books and both kids love stories. We finally were able to get out of the house after being stuck inside all last week with temperatures reaching 102*. I am not a fan of the humidity but after living here for 2 years at least I'm used to it. Life is crazy, but good over all.
We hit our 2 year mark yesterday. We have now officially lived in Philadelphia for 2 years.

That's hard. I think young women's is a hard enough calling anyway with all the stuff you guys do. I can't imagine how hard it is with so many people moving out. Glad that rotations will be done soon though!

I wish you lived closer so I could help you!!! I know how hard it is to have your husband gone alot. It totally sucks! I hope they get some callings filled soon so you can have a bit of a break. Let me know if you need anything!

I hope he doesn't have to work nights very often. That's a really long time to stay alert and active...especially when your body is used to sleeping. And I'm the same. I don't sleep well without Brian here. The few times he's had business trips I've slept horrible.
Man that little Kyrie never ceases to amaze me. She is such a smart little thing. Then again you work with her so well. Great mother!
