Labor Day Fun

With Labor Day being one of Luke's only days of from school/work we decided to do something the kids would like to do. We took them to Core Creek Park which is north of Philadelphia and out of the city. It has a big lake, walking trails, playgrounds, and more. We started out by feeding the ducks and geese. The kids thought it was so fun and it reminded us of when we used to do it in Utah. Did I mention that it was nice to get out of the city? The weather was nice and we enjoyed some nice family time.

Among the ducks and geese there was this one duck with some purple on one side.

After feeding the ducks we found an ice cream truck. They have been driving around our neighborhood all summer and I promised Kyrie that before the summer ended they could have an ice cream. I kept my promise and the kids enjoyed a very messy ice cream.

They were sure happy kids!
As we walked farther down the trail to the playground Ryan found a huge stick that was twice his size.
They burned even more energy at the playground. So much so, that they each ate 6 chicken nuggets for lunch, which is twice as much as they normally eat.
Hurray for spending time with daddy!

Looks so beautiful and fun! We never went there, I really wish we had gotten out more while we were there! Especially since it is so refreshing to get out of the city.

Very nice! I am so glad you were able to get out and spend a day as a family. That place looks pretty cool! The vidoes are so cute. I love Kyrie talking about her ice cream. It was fun how Ryan chimed in "Ice Cream". Love it. I'm glad you could enjoy your labor day.
