Happy 4th!

Luke was lucky enough to get off work for the 4th this year so we planned to have a fun low key day as a family. We hung out in the nice cool house for the first half of the day and then what better way to cool off then to play in the water. The kids love the splash pad and so do I for different reasons. They love to get wet and I love that it burns off energy and helps them sleep better.

After having some water fun we came back to the house and had a little BBQ complete with hot dogs for the kids and a steak for Luke. I tried to eat a hot dog but failed after one bite. My stomach is just being slow on getting back to normal with this pregnancy. We also had lots of other yummy foods to go with the meat. We ended the night by setting off a few fireworks, which the kids loved. Mother nature had to have her say and decided that at midnight we needed to see what she could do as well. We had quite the storm roll through and we watched another very impressive light show.

These are just a couple of treats we made the couple days leading up to the 4th. Play dough cookies are always a hit and they kept them busy for awhile.
Ryan decided to build a factory while he waited for some of the fun festivities to begin.

Those cupcakes look so good! I feel so bad that you still feel sick to your stomach. Hopefully that will change soon. Looks like a good, fun, non stressful holiday! Parker would have loved the splash pad, Evelyn-not so much. I love all the pictures!!! Keep 'em coming!
