Day at the beach

Between Luke having busy rotations in June and July and me being so sick with this pregnancy we haven't been able to get out much this summer. Now that things have slowed down a little for Luke and I am feeling better we are trying to fit in a few fun family outings before school starts on Sept. 7th. We decided to make a day trip and head to the New Jersey coast line for a fun day at the beach. The kids have been begging forever to go since they love it so much.

Last year Ryan spent most of his time playing on the beach in the sand. This year he spent a lot more time in the water. He even liked to get hit by the big waves as long as he was holding my hand.

 Of course he loved playing with his tractors in the sand too.

 

Kyrie got to be very brave this year. She wanted to keep going farther and farther out to get the bigger waves. She wasn't even phased if one took her out.

This was before the waves started to get to big. As the day went on the waves got bigger.

This year we found a little star fish on the beach. We took a picture and then the kids threw it back into the ocean to "set it free." We did see a few little jellyfishes on the beach too, but we never had a problem with them. Thank goodness.

A busy day at the beach makes for sleepy kids. It didn't take them long to fall asleep on the way home.
