2 weeks in

Well Kyrie has been in school now for 2 weeks and overall it is going very well. She loves school she talks about how much she loved her day when she gets home. On top of home room classes they go to art class and music class twice a week with real art and music teachers. They also have gym and health class once a week. We had back to school night on Thursday and I got to meet some of the other parents and talk about some concerns I am having with Kyrie. First of all she isn't really eating anything for lunch. Most, if not all, of what I send with her is coming home. If she eats school lunch she tells me it was too hot and she gave up. I have come up with some solutions to these problems and we are practicing them at home, so I think that the lunch problem will get better. They do eat breakfast at school too, so she may not be all that hungry at lunch. The other concern I have is that she is more shy than I thought. I talked to her teacher at back to school night and asked if she was making any friends. The teacher said she is so sweet but timid when it comes to engaging with other kids. I am going to work with her on that one too. It doesn't seem to bother her much so I think it will also get better. She really does love school and is so excited to talk about it when she gets home.

This picture was taken after the first day of school. They bring each class out, group them up, and then the parents can come get them.
I asked Kyrie if she could tell me the names of any of the kids in her class yet. She pointed at the kids in this picture and could name all but one. Impressive if you ask me. She has a total of 21 kids in her class, which is down from the 28 they told us there would be originally.
This is maybe the second or third day of school.
These are her gym clothes. They don't sell any XS shirts so she is stuck with a size S 6/8 which is huge on her. You could fit 2 if not 3 of her in sideways. (this is after I shrunk it as much as I could)
This is a short week for her since her in Philly they get out Thursday and Friday for Rosh Hashanah. She also has school pictures which could be interesting.
Ryan is also starting to get used to having Kyrie gone. He cried the first few of days as she walked into the school but has since stopped that. We will be starting mom & tots soon and maybe some sort of home preschool which will give him some social interaction besides me.

I'm suprised with how outgoing she is at home that she is so shy at school. Very attentive though! I am glad she likes school and that Ryan is adjusting to being home alone all day. She is soo cute. Do they have to wear yellow tops and blue bottoms every day? No other colors?

she is seriously adorable.
What did you decide to do about her lunches? I have the same problem...Sienna has eaten 3 full meals, with seconds, and dozens of snacks every day (becuase she's "staaaarving") since December, and quit eating breakfast and lunch when school started. UMMM???
