Snow day and updates

Kyrie's teacher called me this morning and cancelled preschool today due to the snow. I understand the need for safety but it only snowed a couple inches last night. Therefore we are stuck at home again with no where to go, so I let the kids paint a picture to keep them occupied for a little while.

I haven't done any updates for quite some time so here it goes.
Luke keeps very busy with school. Although I call it work since he works just like the other doctors everyday at the hospital. He finished his surgery rotation at Temple Hospital right before Christmas and is now in his Internal Medicine rotation at Abington Hospital. The hours are a little better and he is home on the weekends and in the evenings. We didn't get that very much with surgery and we are enjoying every minute of it. He is also still the ward mission leader and keeps busy with that as well.
Kyrie still loves preschool. She is learning a lot and they have started preparing the kids for kindergarten. Along with the normal letters and numbers she is learning so much more at school. She can say The Pledge of Allegiance and often says things I had no idea she knew.  I can't believe she will be in kindergarten this fall and 5 years old in less than a month. Time goes by so quickly. She is still super small for her age and looks so much younger than she is. I got her to sing a song for everyone, and this was actually the first time I had heard her sing it. She like any other kid, does not tell me everything that she does at school.
Ryan is a busy little guy who loves his sister. If she is gone he is always asking where she is. He still loves all things vehicle and Toy Story. He recently has been come interested in potty training and after one day I gave up for a couple more weeks. I don't give up that easy but I couldn't get him to sit on the potty to try to go. He is so stubborn sometimes. Therefore I will push it more when he decides he is ready. He is the cutest thing ever and is at really fun stage. I recently turned our extra room into a toy room and it has helped a little to keep the kids playing in the other room.
I keep plenty busy with the kids and being the Young Women's President. Like every other mom, I have to take Kyrie to school and do all the other errands and cleaning to keep things running. Luke doesn't have a lot of extra time and so I end up doing almost everything around the house, bills, and things kid related, and so on. It keeps me hoping but I don't mind it. My church calling can be a little demanding sometimes. With the holidays everything got off schedule but hopefully now we can get back on track and rolling normally again. I do sometimes sneak sometime in for me, to do what I want, and I relish that time.
Overall we keep plenty busy but we have fun in the process.

I know how tough it is to have your husband away all the time. This last year has been really hard for me being 5 months apart from my hubby. Plus, I'm a little afraid of residency too. Just hang in there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel even if its still really far away.

Mommies are very busy people, aren't we?? Glad to hear things are going good. The kids are adorable as always.

Could Kyrie be any cuter? I don't blame you at all on the potty training. With Evelyn on her way and his life about to change, I had to wait till he was just over 3 before I potty trained him. I am so glad that Luke's hours are better this rotation. I agree with Melissa that mommy's are very busy...and I don't even do school yet. Good luck finding even more you time. Miss ya!
